I had the “dude ranch” bug and planned my early Summer trip to Vista Verde Guest Ranch in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where friends and family vacation. I quickly became buddies with a group and conquered some wonderful wilderness riding in the aspens and a ton of fun. I enjoyed their fabulous food, high-class service and room, wonderful wranglers and staff and would go back in a heartbeat!
The ranch is in Colorado, located about 45 minutes from Steamboat Springs. Being all-inclusive makes your vacation so easy, Vista Verde offers a diverse selection of activities making it more than just a riding ranch. Summer: hiking, mountain biking and fly-fishing, trail riding and lessons. Winter: skiing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides and snowy horseback rides. It’s perfect for solos, friends, couples & families especially for kids, tween, and teen programs. Guests also can enjoy an authentic barn nightly dance.
Accommodations are both secluded cabins with private hot tubs and wood stoves to comfy lodge rooms. The all-inclusive stay delivers incredible food and variety, some meals are more casual outdoor dining, others are formal, white tablecloth evenings, and kids can eat earlier together as an option.
The riding trails were spectacular and amazing - - the wranglers were so great at pairing up humans and horses so you could have the best possible time and makes you feel so comfortable riding, including a lesson for brushing up.
Everyone there were the nicest and most hands-on staff and guests. You come home with new friends and connecting with your trail riding partners through social media to stay in touch.
I can't wait to visit the ranch again!
